Dried lemons or also referred to as dried limes are a key ingredient in Persian cookery. It is often used in Persian stews and casseroles such as Ghaiemeh (split pea stew) dishes and Sabzi Ghormeh.
This ingredient is also used in other middle eastern and Arabian cooking. Adding this naturally sun-dried fruit to your dishes imparts a sour, tangy and earthy flavour.
Dried Lemons Serving Suggestions
- Use whole – pierce a few holes with fork
- Add to your stews, casseroles or soups.
- Once re-hydrated, they will tent to go soft.
- Remove from the dish prior to serving as it can be bitter if eaten (optional)
